Brand Vouette & Sorbée

It is probably one of the smallest vineyards in the Champagne region nestled in the heart of the small village of Buxières-sur-Arces on the Côte des Bar.

The vineyard is planted on clay-limestone soil, one of the essential conditions to achieve such a degree of perfection.

Another essential condition is that the average age of the vines, mostly planted with Pinot Blanc, is 35 years.

The vineyard is maintained like an organically grown garden by the owner Bertrand Gauterot who produced his first bottle in 2001.

All the harvest is manual and the production is in the order of 25 to 30,000 bottles.

After having been for 11 months in French oak barrels of 400 liters, a small capacity favorable to the quality, the wines are bottled to be taken down in cellars, lying on slats.

As the orders are made, the wine is disgorged on the fly, following an old tradition of the people of Champagne.
