The first writing mentioning Giscours mentions a fortified keep around 1330 and it was not until 1847 that the castle was built in the Renaissance style as we know it today.

This château is a third Grand Cru classified according to the prestigious 1855 list.

The vineyard is located on 3 very particular ridges of the Margaux appellation area crossed by the Le Cordet stream, thus bringing together a set of qualities such as exposure, drainage, water regulation in summer, root permeability that make it an exceptional castle.

The vineyard covers a little less than a hundred hectares including vines with an average age of 35 years. Production is around 480 barrels per year, ie between 550 and 600,000 bottles depending on the year for an average yield per hectare of 4,500 liters.

Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon: 60%, Merlot: 32%, Cabernet franc: 5% and Petit Verdot: 3%.

All the harvest is manual and the wine is aged in 50% pure barrels for 15 to 18 months depending on the vintage before bottling.

Sirène de Giscours is the second wine of this prestigious Château.
